TDI Technical dive training at Oriskany

We offer these programs as part of our corporate program of instruction. We have our own staff instructors and also maintain a list of independent instructors that we feel are qualified to teach at this level. Their technical skills and their communication skills are very strong.

Technical dive courses can be combined and thus shorten the total time to reach your goal. Your instructor will explain to you how you can combine courses based on your personal experience and goal. Another thing that will help you in technical dive training and shorten your training time is experience with diving with double tanks and a technical style BC, e.g. harness and back plate.

Contact us and we'll have one of our instructors contact you with details, cost and schedule.

TDI Advanced Nitrox Course

Advanced Nitrox is the first step on the TDI technical diving training ladder. This course enables you to use EAN 21 to 100 for optimal mixes to a maximum depth of 130 fsw.

The course includes approximately 6 hours of theory and 4 open water dives over 3 days. You learn the benefits, hazards and proper techniques for using Nitrox mixes 22-100% oxygen on dives not requiring staged decompression.

To take this course, you must be:

TDI Decompression Procedures Course

Here you learn to extend your dive time beyond the normal no-decompression limits. The course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned staged decompression diving and you become familiar with equipment requirements; gear set ups, decompression techniques and gas mixtures for decompression diving to a maximum depth of 150 fsw.

The course lasts 3 days and includes 6 hours of theory and 4 dives.

To take this course, you must be:

TDI Extended Range Course

Designed to train you in technical diving skills, equipment and procedures to plan and carry out decompression dives with air, Nitrox or oxygen to a maximum depth of 180 fsw that require staged decompression.

The course includes 8 hours of theory and 6 dives over 4 days.

To take this course, you must be:

TDI Entry Level Trimix

This course trains you to competently and safely use breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression with Nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures.

You learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases with a minimum of 21% oxygen to a maximum depth of 200 fsw.

The course lasts 5 days and includes 4 dives.

To take this course, you must be:

TDI Advanced Trimix Diver

This course trains you to competently and safely use breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression with Nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures.

You learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases with less than 21% oxygen to a maximum depth of 330 fsw.

The course lasts 5 days and includes 4 dives.

To take this course, you must be:

*) Based on our local conditions our instructors have increased the requirement from the minimum standard set by TDI for participating in our technical dive training.
